Fuel and Diesel Injector Filters
Starting from the R&D stage of a product at an experimental level, up to a large-scale production, GVS has acquired today vast experience in the market. GVS has become an international leader in the production of high volume products for low, medium and high pressure gasoline and diesel injector systems.
GVS offer a wide range of filtration media ranging from 8 to 100 micron pore sizes and filter screens in materials such as PA, PE, PPS, PEEK and stainless steel to suit a diverse range of automotive applications.
The experience acquired in this division enables GVS to offer innovative solutions and enables increased filter surfaces in extremely small spaces. This allows specifications to be met at smaller form factors or performance to be increased by up to 30%. To ensure this higher performance is maintained the entire production process of the product takes place in class 100,000 clean rooms on fully automatic equipment.
ABS / ESP - Braking Filters
Antilock Brake systems prevent wheels from locking and skidding when braking hard or when braking on wet or slick surfaces. This adds a significant margin of safety allowing the driver to maintain steering control while trying to stop. Depending on conditions, on dry streets antilock brake systems can slightly increase braking distances, while, on wet or slick pavement, antilock brakes may reduce the stopping distance up to 25% or more.
ABS has been significantly developed and recent versions have quite a few different functions in addition to the main brake assist one, such as traction control (TCS) and electronic stability control (ESP).
When any of the rotating wheels begin to slow at a faster rate than the others, the ABS system, which continuously monitors the rotation of the wheel speed during braking with sensors, responds by briefly decreasing the pressure on the braking circuit through electrically operated solenoid valves. This reduces the braking force on that wheel, allowing it to regain traction and not allowing it to lock, hence bringing it in line with the others.
GVS has developed advanced filter solutions for the ABS-ESP valves with hydraulic circuit oil to ensure the wheel speed sensors do not become contaminated with metallic dust and fail to detect wheel slip.
Every year GVS produce up to 250million zero defect over moulded filters in a range of styles with innovative production technology. This is certainly a good reference for every new ABS/ESP project.
The GVS Automotive product production areas are 100,000 class clean room standard. This guarantees levels of cleanliness in line with required standards where specified particles ranges are not allowed. The standard filtering materials in PA, PPA, PEEK and stainless steel cover most product specifications, while research and technological development allow new solutions to be obtained by improving the performance of the products and reduced unit production costs. GVS has always believed in re-investing in technology and the latest production equipment. Year on year this has meant an average increase in total output of 25%.

Fuel Tank Filters
This is an application sector where over the years GVS has introduced new solutions and considerably improved the standards of reference. GVS's highly innovative design skills provide solutions to a wide range of different filtering problems put forward by the clients, especially inserting the filter in very small spaces, optimizing the performances of the final product without compromises on filter specification.

These media's and designs can be tested at R&D stage through rapid prototyping where required.
With support of the internal GVS Filter testing laboratory, GVS can quickly process high performance non woven filter medias. These media's are consistently amongst the best performing on the market. GVS Prefilters and Fine Filters are used in fuel tank modules and a range of other applications.

Throttle body / Drive by Wire technology
For more than 15 years, since GVS took over a production line of M. Marelli, a division of GVS Automotive has been specializing in the production of components for throttle body application.
By applying the GVS philosophy and investing in new technologies, GVS has become a leader in the manufacture of throttle plates in aluminium, brass and special alloys. Today GVS has production lines for throttle plates installed in GVS production locations on the 4 continents in Italy, Brazil, US and China
GVS has recently expanded its range of products for throttle bodies, with a special three-year investment plan for the expansion of the Brazil factory, specializing in the production of drive by wire gears, shafts and over moulded components.
In order to guarantee the required tolerances, the temperature in the GVS production areas is controlled to cut down heat expansion. If left to vary these changes in temperature would otherwise lead to an increase in the working tolerances. The great experience accumulated by GVS over the years in the internal design of the production systems enables them to easily maintain the high precision required by the valves (+/- 4 micron) at the level of industrial production.
Constantly seeking further improvement in performance and costs, GVS is now developing valves for throttle bodies with innovative materials, in plastic alone, plastic and metal combinations, as well as other innovative solutions.
Ventilation Membrane - Breathing Filters
With a production exceeding 3.4 billion pieces manufactured in the last 10 years and more than 600 million filters manufactured in one year alone, GVS is a world leader in the production of injection-moulded ventilation filters.
The applications range from temperature, water and oil sensors, electronic power boxes, ABS control, electric windscreen wipers, lighting systems to the whole innovative mechatronics with IP specifications. More than 60 different types of membranes allow GVS clients to choose the best solution in terms of performance, quality and price.
GVS's experience of industrial production in the membrane sector dates back 40 years. In the early stages major technological investments and a wide range of innovative patents allowed GVS to confront the leaders of the sector with confidence. Today GVS has become the market's main point of reference for very high volume production.
SCR Tecnology - UREA Filter and ventilation/breathing filters line
GVS has developed a new line of filters, available worldwide, to suit the latest requirements of heavy duty commercial vehicles fitted with NOx gas after treatments.
SCR systems (Selective Catalyst Reduction) represent the main NOx reduction technology. The SCR dosing control unit feeds into the exhaust gas flow of the catalytic converter a reduction agent called AdBlue®, a chemical synthetic aqueous solution with a 30% urea content (AdBlue®), transforming the nitrous oxides into water and harmless nitrogen GVS filters are able to cover all of the SCR process needs to meet the automotive manufacturers performance requirements for quality, efficiency, and durability.

Vehicle Cabin and Main Air Intake Filters
GVS have developed filters across a wide range of applications areas such as medical breathing systems, face masks, fume extraction and HEPA for medical applications. By bringing together materials and production techniques from these areas GVS can offer products with filtration performance well above existing products on the market.
GVS offer a wide range of media grades to manage contaminants from coarse dust, through fine particulate, bacteria, viruses and molecular fumes. We can develop packages that can remove these contaminants, along with allergens whilst still maintaining relatively low levels of resistance for the syetem to keep energy consumption at a low level.
Our experience in personal protection and medical air applications dealing with bacteria and viral contaminants such as H1N1, SARS, MERS and COVID ensures we offer the very best viral and bacterial 'barriers' to protect occupants, particularly if air is recirculated within a vehicle.
Filters can be developed in bespoke shapes and formats with thermoplastic, fabric or poluerethane foam frames as required. GVS have filtration performance test capabilities at sub-micron size as well as molecular gas breakthrough analysis to ensure the finished products perform to the highest standards.
