Cylinder and conical vacuum-cleaners filters are usually constructed using glassfibre pleats arranged in a cylinder. The pleats are capped at both ends with materials or components including: moulded plastic, two component resin, adhesive or formed metal.
Cylinder filters often have a central supporting cage or mesh to provide structure, strength and protect the filter element.
Additional components such as gaskets for sealing to a fixture, threaded inserts, pre-filters e.t.c. can be incorporated to improve performance and function.
Pad and pre-filters typical applications include vacuum cleaner pre filters, sound attenuation.
They are normally constructed from nonwoven thermoplastic material. The density and depth of the material can vary from 40g/m2 to over 800g/m2, and can consist of single or multiple layers with graduated densities and specific characteristics.
GVS can provide pre-filters separate or as part of a filter assembly, often used to filter out larger particles.
Pre-filters can be electrostatically charged, have sound attenuation properties, be washable with good airflow recovery charactersistics (ARC). GVS filters can also have anti-microbial properties added to protect against bacteria and viruses and activated carbon added for odour removal.
Pad and Pre-filters can be insert moulded (encapsulated) with thermoplastic to create a filter in a sealed frame, designed for many applications.
Circular Filters, Radial or standard Filters
GVS advanced manufacturing technique creates a circular vacuum cleaner filter shape using a wide range of frame and filter materials. These can be supplied in a range of diameters and heights specific to customer requirents.
We can include pleated HEPA or ULPA pleated elements, pad and pre-filters, flexible or rigid frames and many other extra features such as; integral seals, two component resin gaskets and detailed injection moulded frames.
Circular filter technology can also include our advanced circular encapsulation manufacturing technique, this enables the manufacture of flexible filters that can fit and seal to complex profiles without extra processing.
Using injection moulding technology, vacuum cleaner fiters cases can be designed and manufactured to any customer specification. Which can include additional features such as: integral, cut or two component resin gaskets, threaded inserts and clips incorporated to improve performance and function.
The filter elements are predominantly a rectangular or square shape using a wide range of filter materials, including HEPA or ULPA grades. Complex, non-standard design's can also be developed and processed to create bespoke filters when required by our customers such as; rectangular filters curved in the third axis, profiled or stepped cases utilising different heights of filter, or use of the GVS ramped pleat pack design which maximises the active filtering area making use of complex and unused spaces.
To improve the performance and function of the filter, additional parts and features can be added such as; pad or pre-filters to enhance the filtration, mesh or a grills for protection, strength and robustness.
